Losing the plot in Dubrovnik

As we went to go get our bags, up the stairs we went. Once we had got our bags we stood at the top of the stairs and I just lost the will to live. It was so hot, I was covered in sticky sun cream. We were half way through our trip but the feeling of fatigue, despair and the lack of enegery had token over my body. I looked at the daunting 100 steps in front of me and looked over at Alona, I cupped my face in my hands.

Get over yourself Alona told me, I mean fair enough I had nothing to complain about. I dont know what happened maybe she had lost a bit of sainity too and she started running down the first flight of steps. I couldn't belive it there was about 100 of them and it was almost 40 degrees. She stopped and turned. Run she told me and I did. I launched myself down the steps laughing as she zoomed down the next flight, it was hysterical. As the sun bounced of her and she dramatically descended down the steps I followed suit. At the bottom of the stairs we realised this had been a terrible idea.

The sweat poured down us! As we trudged along the road for 2 kilometers to the bus station. We were in true form about 2 hours early for the bus. We drank water and Alona poured it over her head in a last ditch attempt to stay cool. The speakers started blaring and we heard that our bus was going to be delayed for 4 hours so I went to get some beers.

We drank about 6 beers each, sitting on our bags with the other passengers. We laughed and drank away. We went into a fit of hysterics for no reason the heat pounding down on us. As the bus pulled up us and a lot of the other passangers stumbled onto the bus. We sat down and I looked at Alona and told her, we still have a board crossing. She laughed and went to sleep.
